The charter organization for Pack 205 is Olive Chapel Baptist Church
David Crowley and the members of Olive Chapel Baptist Church had a vision to bring scouting into their community. With David's previous knowledge and experience as an Eagle Scout, he put together a plan to start Cub Scout Pack 205 in 2015. He worked with the members of Olive Chapel Baptist church to attain a charter and Pack 205 was born in the fall of 2015.
Since its founding, Cub Scout Pack 205 has grown to include more than 50 young boys and girls from the surrounding area. These scouts learn the values of scouting such as citizenship, teamwork, honesty, and respect. Through socials and service projects, these young scouts also gain a sense of community by getting to know their fellow scouts.
In addition to offering traditional scouting activities like camping trips and pinewood derby races, Pack 205 has engaged in many activities, ranging from field trips to museums and police stations to public service and volunteering events.
David Crowley and his dedication to scouting has helped bring the values of scouting to a new generation of youth. By founding Pack 205, he has not only shared his love of scouting with his own children, Ethan (soon to include Lydia), but has also opened up this life-changing opportunity to boys and girls of all ages.
Cub Scout Pack 205 is a testament to the power of community involvement and dedicated leadership. Thanks to David Crowley's hard work and dedication, future generations will reap the rewards of the Scouting program for years to come.
Eagle Scout, David Crowley, and the members of Olive Chapel Baptist Church have worked together to make Cub Scout Pack 205 a reality. The pack has grown over the years, now including 50 scouts from the surrounding area who are all learning about and embodying the values of scouting: citizenship, teamwork, honesty, and respect. Through scouting events these young scouts are gaining the knowledge and skills to become the next generation of leaders, all thanks to David’s dedication and hard work. Pack 205 is an example of how dedicated leadership can have a lasting impact on a community, one scout at a time.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The Cub Scout program is divided into age levels that are tailored for each age group. Each level has specific goals that challenge the Scouts to grow and learn new skills and values. The program starts with Lion Cubs, which is designed for kindergarten-age children. From there, the program progresses through Tiger Cubs (1st grade), Wolf Cub Scouts (2nd grade), and Bear Cub Scouts (3rd grade). In 4th and 5th grades, the program is called Webelos Scouting. All levels of Cub Scouting include outdoor activities, hands-on learning and family involvement.
The core values of the Cub Scouts are embedded into the program. The Cub Scout Oath is part of the Cub Scouts Promise and Law, which serves as a guide for how to live an upstanding life.
