Our Mission

The charter organization for Pack 205 is Olive Chapel Baptist Church

Preparing young people for their futures.

‍The Cub Scouts are a part of the Boy Scouts of America and share its mission, but at a younger age level. The mission of the Cub Scouts is to provide an age-appropriate program of character development, citizenship training and personal fitness. The organization works to develop young people into well-rounded individuals who possess the core values of respect, responsibility, citizenship and leadership.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Cub Scout program is divided into age levels that are tailored for each age group. Each level has specific goals that challenge the Scouts to grow and learn new skills and values. The program starts with Lion Cubs, which is designed for kindergarten-age children. From there, the program progresses through Tiger Cubs (1st grade), Wolf Cub Scouts (2nd grade), and Bear Cub Scouts (3rd grade). In 4th and 5th grades, the program is called Webelos Scouting. All levels of Cub Scouting include outdoor activities, hands-on learning and family involvement.

The core values of the Cub Scouts are embedded into the program. The Cub Scout Oath is part of the Cub Scouts Promise and Law, which serves as a guide for how to live an upstanding life.
