Pack Membership Chair

The Pack Membership Chair is responsible for promoting the growth of a Cub Scout Pack. This includes organizing an annual census to track and recruit cubs, developing recruitment plans in partnership with the pack committee, and helping to re-integrate cubs who have dropped out of the program.

Qualifications

  • Be a U.S. citizen at least 21 years of age, appointed by the chartered organization and registered as an adult leader of the BSA.
  • A person of good character, familiar with organization procedures, with a deep concern for the pack's success.
  • Completes and maintains up-to-date position specific training and Youth Protection Training (YPT).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an annual census of cubs in the chartered organization for systematic recruitment.
  • Work with pack committee members to promote recruitment plans.
  • Follow up on Cub Scout dropouts to help return them to full, active membership.
  • Along with the Cubmaster and pack committee, see that eligible cubs transition to the next rank's den at the appropriate time, and that Webelos Scouts and parents/guardians have a smooth transition into a Boy Scout troop.
  • Arrange for periodic uniform inspections with the unit commissioner.
