William Highsmith has been an integral part of the Scouting program since 1990. As a youth, he earned the prestigious Arrow of Light and Eagle Scout Award and is a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow. His involvement in scouting ranges from unit to national level – earning several training awards, completing Wood Badge, and receiving the District Award of Merit and the BSA Alumni Award. His current role as Advancement Chair for Pack 205 stems from his passion to help youth have the same positive experience he had, while having fun in the process.
William is a strong advocate of outdoor activities, stressing their importance to provide effective learning experiences and build character. He believes that scouting provides an invaluable opportunity to instill values of leadership, service and self-development in young adults. Being a scout himself, William shares his wisdom through encouraging youth members to push their boundaries and take on leadership roles within the scouting program.
